In connection with the recent terrorist bombing in Iran, the Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar is said to have informed Pakistan about the financers of the Jundullah – literally meaning Soldiers of God – the extremist group responsible for the bombing in Iran’s Sistan-Balochistan province, which killed 42 people and wounded several others on October 18, 2009.

The Iranian Interior Minster met Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik in Islamabad on Saturday (October 24, 2009) and, according to news sources, informed the latter of the financers of Jundullah. However, media sources did not share, or know, the names/details of the said financers. It has been learnt that the meeting brought up issues relating cross-border terrorism and security concerns. Rehman Malik is said to have assured his Iranian counterpart of Pakistan’s full cooperation and help in dealing with terrorists and bringing them to justice.
Rehman Malik also told Mr. Najjar that Jundullah’s chief Abdol Malek Rigi was not in Pakistan and that the attack has failed in disrupting the brotherly relations between the two countries.
