Japan :

Japan’s Ethics Organization of Computer Software (EOCS) has decided not to allow the sale of rape games in the country. The decision came after protest from American civil rights campaigners who have been demanding a ban on sick rape games, like RapePlay, in Japan. Japanese Organization Disallows Sale of Rape Game

RapePlay is a computer game/software that allows a player to stalk and rape young female characters and win points for doing so. It is said to be getting very popular among people who like playing depraved and fantasizing offensive forms of sexual expression. A spokesman form EOCS is reported to call the game a ‘sexual torture software’, radically deviating from agreeable social norms.

Civil rights campaigners have already persuaded the Japanese chapters of Amazon to stop the sale of RapePlay. But the developer of the game maintains that the game’s sale is legal under Japanese law as Japanese organization’s ratings are not legally enforceable. Still, the ratings from organizations help sellers in determining what games to stock for public sale.

This is completely sick. How could any company in any country allow such a video game to be produced? The person/people who pitched this idea should have been committed. They are clearly a danger to society.

Absolutely! And they are threats for the minds of the young people who may get involved in such things in real life as well.

I am just as offended and concerned about ANY video game which promotes realistic violence. But, how do you people propose keeping crap like this out of our country? Don't you all scream about this elusive Fairness Doctrine to keep hate radio blazing, shouldn't you be fighting to allow this crap to come into our country as well?

There are games like that already on the internet. You can look at it from 2 angles, either those who are playing it are at home and not out in the street doing it for real or they get so worked up by the game that the go out and commit the crime for real.

True! I will go with her.

Any such kind of game should be banned no matter which part of the world it is played in. This can have bad effect on one's psychology.
