Pakistani world-famous cricket veteran Imran Khan, now the chief of the political party Tehreek-e-Insaaf has been criticized by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Malik Ammad Khan. The latter reproved Imran Khan’s flip-flop political career and his mudslinging the current democratic government. Imran Khan Criticized for Maligning Zardari Government

Mr. Malik Ammad Khan, according to a recent news post, expressed his disapproval of Imran Khan’s propaganda campaign against the current government of President Asif Ali Zardari. He revealed that Imran Khan had been assured by Pakistan’s ex-president Parvez Musharraf to be inducted as the prime minister – possibly as a case of rigging during the general elections of 2002. However, Mr. Musharraf did not keep his word with Imran Khan and thus Khan turned against Musharraf.

Stretching his criticism of Imran Khan, Mr. Malik Ammad Khan spoke of Imran Khan as a frustrated politician who has been looking to the favors of the sacked chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for entering political power through backdoor. Mr. Malik added that Imran Khan should put his own house in order rather than maligning the elected government of President Zardari.

Imran Khan has been in the politics for over nearly 15 years but only lately has he become more vocal and active in his political campaign. In a number of cities, he has started Sasta Tandoors (literally ‘inexpensive ovens’) where bread is available for a lower price than in the general market. In a recent television interview, Khan expressed dissatisfaction with every sector in Pakistan, calling them declining, including sports. Many young people are very fond of him, not only as a former sports hero, but also as a politician. Several thousand people signed up for Imran Khan’s party membership in Peshawar where he recently launched a public campaign for promoting his political movement.

I really admire this man and think that if he is chosen as the prime minister of Pakistan, the country shall surely rise. Or at least start thinking sensibly. But again, the typical politician breed will never let him rise.

Its only the Pakistan public who can do something.

I am not surprised. People who are criticizing them knows very well that he is a person who genuinely thinks in favor of the country. All other are busy in fulfilling their own selfish motives.

No doubt, the veteran cricketer has been ever more popular among the masses specially the youth as a politician. What he actually needs for his party are strong, active and skilful team members to get the label of One Man Show off it. The performance of Central Spokesman, Informaion Secretary and members Central Executive Committee of PTI has been disappointing on differnt fronts specially the media.Recently a senior and revered political analyst Shireen Mazari has announced her affiliation with the party which is a good omen.
Besides, Imaran Khan’s support for Islamic Law and advocacy for taliban recently has brought about a mixed response from the groups in public that fully supported him otherwise.
