Bullet-proof vehicles have been approved for use by Baluchistan Assembly members who are being threatened with attempts on their lives. The approval was given by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday October 30, 2009, during a meeting with a delegation of Baluchistan Assembly members in Islamabad.

Leader of the delegation Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani presented the resolution asking for bullet-proof vehicles for all Baloch MPAs to ensure their safety. Approving the resolution, the prime Minister also told the delegation about a comprehensive developmental plan for Baluchistan to be announced soon.

The orders for bullet-proof vehicles for ministers have been under consideration for quite some time and the recent assassination of the provincial minister of education Shafeeq Ahmed Khan in Baluchistan has strengthened the case for making sound serious security arrangements for ministers in Baluchistan.
